Q11|Leftovers After Reconstitution

Aug 30, 20254 min read

In 2013, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine established the cellular “vesicle trafficking” mechanism—essentially the instruction manual for how cells package and deliver signals. That insight helps us understand and modulate exosome formation and release, opening possibilities in skin and aesthetic care. Exosomes have since been widely explored as one of the most promising ways to break long-standing bottlenecks in regeneration and repair.

TL;DR

  • Best practice: one vial = one use after fresh reconstitution.

  • If you must save a remainder: refrigerate at 2–8 °C and finish within 48 hours.

  • When in doubt, throw it out: stop using if you notice off-odor, clear discoloration, flocs/strings, persistent turbidity, or a broken seal.

01|Why “one vial = one use” is strongly recommended

Once reconstituted, exosomal cargo becomes more sensitive to temperature, oxidation, and microbes. Re-opening the vial accelerates activity loss and contamination risk.

Single-use = peak activity + a clean hygiene loop.

Pro tip: if you still have a little left on procedure day, don’t hoard it—thin-layer the neck or hands to use it up responsibly.

02|The 48-hour “safe window” checklist

  • Cap immediately: close the original cap right after use; avoid letting the mouth of the vial touch skin.

  • Time label: write the mixing date/time on the vial.

  • Refrigerate upright: store at 2–8 °C (inner shelf, not the door), away from light and vibration. Do not freeze.

  • Before next use: wash hands; you may wipe the outside of the vial and cap with alcohol (keep alcohol out of the vial).

  • Decant, don’t dip: pour into a single-use sterile cup or your palm. Avoid direct contact between vial and skin/tools. Recap and return to fridge immediately.

  • After 48 hours: discard even if it looks “fine.”

03|Quick visual triage for second use

Typically acceptable

  • Clear to slightly opalescent (normal light scatter after mixing)

  • Small bubbles that dissipate on standing

Treat as abnormal → discard

  • Noticeable yellow/brown discoloration

  • Flocculent or stringy precipitate, or turbidity that doesn’t settle

  • Off-odor, leaks, or broken seal

  • Prolonged room-temperature exposure, overheating, sun/UV, or freezing

04|Please don’t do these

  • No topping up with tap water/purified water/DIY saline; no adding other serums back into the vial.

  • No vigorous shaking (gently invert to mix).

  • No transferring to other containers; no sharing a vial.

  • No long outings at ambient heat; if travel is essential, use an insulated pouch + cold pack and keep total time < 2 hours.

  • No inserting droppers/cotton swabs/tools into the vial.

05|How to plan the next uses

  • Clinic day (D0): best practice is fresh mix, full-vial application within 0–60 min post-procedure. If a small remainder is unavoidable, follow the 2–8 °C / 48-hour rules and thin-layer at home on D1–D2.

  • Cadence: usually every 7–10 days; 4–6 sessions complete one cycle (adjust to skin tolerance and professional protocol).

  • Sets: Pro (1+1) single session · Max (2+2) ~2 weeks · Ultra (3+3) 3–4 weeks.

06|Quick FAQ

  • Q: Can I leave it at room temperature until tomorrow?

A: No. Refrigerate immediately after mixing and finish within 48 h.

  • Q: Warm it up before using?

A: Do not heat. Let it sit at room temp for a few minutes if needed.

  • Q: Can I use a dropper each time?

A: Not advised. Decant; avoid inserting tools into the vial.

  • Q: Is slight milkiness a bad sign?

A: Usually normal light scatter. Discard if you see yellowing, flocs/strings, or off-odor.

07|Traceability & after-sales

We operate Fresh-Batch 48h: within 48 hours of your order we allocate the latest released batch, print per-vial labels, and ship with temperature awareness. If a temperature excursion or seal issue is detected, we follow an SOP for priority replacement.

Each vial carries LOT / Vial-ID / spec / date and a QR to your Trace Page for COA summaries, temperature notes, and reconstitution/use tips.

One-line takeaway

The best use is one vial, one session. If you must save a remainder, nail the 2–8 °C, 48-hour, and no-contamination rules—and if anything looks off, safety beats salvage.
