Q31 | Can I pair it with infusion devices / ultrasound / LED?

Pairing Exosome Serums with Devices

The question of whether exosome serums can be combined with infusion devices, ultrasound, or LED treatments depends on the device’s energy and heat output. Because exosomes are delicate extracellular vesicles, it’s important to follow low-heat, low-power protocols.

Suitable Devices

  • LED light therapy and low-level light devices can complement topical exosome serums by promoting relaxation and helping absorption.
  • Cooling mists or cold rollers may soothe skin before or after application.

Caution with High-Energy Devices

  • Radiofrequency (RF), high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), or other high-power thermal devices may degrade exosomes if applied after mixing. If used, perform the energy-based procedure first, allow the skin to cool completely, then apply the exosome serum.

Order of Application

  1. Perform any high-energy or mechanical procedure (if applicable).
  2. Allow skin to cool and barrier to settle.
  3. Prepare the exosome serum by mixing lyophilized powder with activator.
  4. Apply the serum evenly and let it absorb.
  5. Optionally, follow with low-intensity LED or light infusion.

Science Reminder

Exosomes are nano-sized vesicles carrying proteins, lipids, and RNAs. Nobel Prize discoveries on vesicle transport (2013) and microRNAs (2024) inform our understanding of exosome stability (Vesicle Discovery Wins Nobel for Medicine | Exosome RNA, MicroRNAs won the Nobel Prize. Now, can extracellular vesicles …). These products are cosmetics, not drugs, and the FDA has not approved exosome therapies (The real science of exosomes—the latest obsession in skincare). Use externally only; do not inject or infuse.
